world missions vision statement

Our vision is to take the Gospel to the lost through missionaries, national churches, local pastors & evangelists and Short Term Mission teams sent out by us to bear witness. Also to plant churches, support those who are involved in fruitful church planting and encourage and support those who are actively involved in the work of Bible teaching and discipleship. Additionally, to be actively involved with those who are feeding the hungry and clothing the poor.

KENYA. Peter and Anne are Kenyan nationals and started the work in Ruiru in 1995. They have two children - Joy and Andrew.  Peter is the Senior Pastor of New Life Christian Centre, and with Anne, Directors of New Life Christian School. 

Peter is also Associate Director of Barnabas Ministries Africa and bible teacher at the various School of Ministries.  Anne is a teacher and is the National Education & Women in Ministry Coordinator with Barnabas Ministries Africa and New Life Homes Trust Africa.

We hope to have Peter & Anne as our guest speakers at our World Missions weekend in June 2007.

MALAWI. Pastor Timothy Muyanganira of Limbe, Malawi is supported by New Life and works alongside them as Pastor/Overseer in Southern Malawi. 

Pastor Timothy, in this new roll, has been released and empowered to evangelise and teach in Malawi and Mozambique. 

 

NEWS
We recently raised £2,500 for 500 bibles in the Chicquwa (local) language for distribution amongst the local pastors.

A team from New Life will be travelling to Nsanje during October, to take part in a week of bible teaching aimed at supporting and encouraging the local pastors.

Tanzania. In Tanzania we network with Pastor Barnabas Mtokambali, senior pastor of Bethel Revival Temple, Morogoro.  New Life supports BRT’s aims with regard to training and church planting and since 2003, we have sent a number of STM ministry teams to work along side their pastors.  

As part of our commitment, we also support finically four BRT pastors in training and church planting.

Philippines. Mark & Mary Ritchie are Scottish and have been in the Philippines since May 2000. They have two lovely children - Lydia and Josiah.  

They direct a complex called Sefton Village which includes a Children's Home, Nursery School, Bible School, Conference & Prayer Centre and a church. They are full time missionaries with the Assemblies of God, UK.

 

NEWS
Mark, Mary and the kids are home on itinerating leave, touring churches and groups around the UK and reporting on the work of Sefton Village. They will return to the Philippines at the end of January. Mark now has a blog (a sort of web newsletter)

BRAZIL. Leo Maria Leonardo is the director of A Missão Transcultural Etnia.  The main emphasis of the mission is Christian education and evangelism.  

In recent years at New Life, we have supported Leo by sending national English speakers to help at the ‘Speak for Jesus – in English’ training ministries.

  NEWS
1) A team of Brazilians, members of a ‘Speak for Jesus UK’ ministry, are planning to be in Scotland during January 2007.

2) The Sao Paulo ‘Speak for Jesus’ ministry, which takes place in January & July each year, is inviting participants to help the mission with English teaching.

UK. Mark Ritchie is an Evangelist in the UK with AoG.  In this roll, Mark who is a passionate Scotsman has travelled all over the world communicating the message of the Cross.

Mark mixes a unique blend of humour with the Gospel message and has seen many come to faith.

AUSTRIA
Gowan & Sarah Wheeler are from the UK and have been working in Austria since 2001.  They are working with City Church Vienna in teaching and evangelism, especially among the young people. 

City Church Vienna is part of a group of churches that are collectively called - Vision for Austria.

  NEWS
Sarah recently launched a new project - ‘Kindergruppe’, a smaller version of a Kindergarten.  It is being pioneered together with a group of parents from the Vienna church.

ZAMBIA.Ben & Brenda are the directors of the Eden Farm complex in Chingola which they established some 10 tens ago.  They have recently returned to Scotland and have settled in Peterhead, from where they will direct the work. 

The manager they have placed in charge and staff they trained over the years will be doing the day to day running of the project, with Ben and Brenda actively seeking to developed and support the work from their home base.

 

NEWS
Ben Pitout and his wife have now retired to Peterhead after more than 30 years as missionaries in Zambia.

As a final project they have established and staffed a large christian farm community in Zambia.
